Our Story

Burland Cat Barn began in 2025 with three cats in need of a second chance.

Tank, Elsie, and George had been abandoned by their previous owners and left to fend for themselves. Having adapted to life outdoors, they were being advertised for placement on a smallholding or farm. After a successful home check, I received the call that they would be coming to me and that moment changed everything. Welcoming them in opened my eyes to just how many cats are out there without safety, care, or a place to belong. What started as helping three quickly became something much bigger.

I made the decision to begin converting our barn into a safe space where more cats like them could be rescued, rehabilitated, and cared for. After sharing that I was able to help, messages began to come in almost immediately from people needing support, from situations where cats had nowhere else to go. From that day on, Burland Cat Barn grew into what it is today. Currently, I care for 26 cats and kittens, single-handedly, each with their own story, needs, and personality. It is a full-time commitment built on compassion, dedication, and a genuine love for giving these animals a better life.
